Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy (also known as extracorporeal shockwave therapy) is a treatment modality commonly used in physical therapy to treat injured or ailing areas of the body that involve soft tissue. Tendons and muscles are the targets. Using this device, which looks like a handheld wand similar to an ultrasound device, it is applied directed to the surface of the skin above the target tissue and a painless impulse is directed to the area. When properly used, shockwave therapy can jump start healing and help regenerate healthy tissue.
